A Lambton Shores man faces drunk driving charges after a police cruiser was nearly hit by a vehicle on the Grey-Bruce Line early Sunday morning.
Just after 2 a.m., members of the South Bruce OPP were patrolling the road when the police cruiser was nearly hit by the oncoming vehicle. Officers avoided the collision, then conducted a traffic stop to find that the driver had been drinking alcohol, police said in a news release.
The 65-year-old driver was charged with impaired driving and operating a vehicle with over 80 milligrams of alcohol in his blood.
He is scheduled to appear in court on June 24 to answer to the charges.
