A Northern Bruce Peninsula man has been arrested and charged after a robbery at the gas station in Ferndale on Saturday morning.
At 5:45 a.m., Grey Bruce OPP were dispatched to the robbery at the gas station on Highway 6 in Northern Bruce Peninsula.
As the business was being opened for the day, a man assaulted an employee and attempted to gain entry. The suspect was gone from the scene when police arrived, Grey Bruce OPP said in a news release.
A short time later, OPP officers received a call of a break and enter in progress at a residence on Highway 6 near Miller Lake. A person who matched the robbery suspect’s description was arrested by officers at the scene of the break and enter, the release said.
Peter Junior Mears, 29, has been charged with robbery with violence, break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence and operation of a motor vehicle while impaired.
He was held for a bail hearing in the Ontario Court of Justice on Sunday.
