Vehicle stolen after driver stops for pedestrian in Arran-Elderslie


Police are investigating after a pedestrian brandished a weapon and stole the vehicle of a person who stopped on Bruce Road 10 in Arran-Elderslie.

Sometime between 9:45 and 9:55 p.m. on Thursday evening a motorist stopped along the road in the former Arran Township to check on a pedestrian. The pedestrian brandished a weapon and demanded the driver exit the vehicle, South Bruce OPP said in a news release.

The suspect, who was dressed in black and wearing a mask, was last seen driving northbound on Bruce Road 10, the release said.

The stolen vehicle is described as a silver Mercedes GLK350 sport utility vehicle with licence CCZB 136.

Anyone who sees the vehicle is asked to not approach it and call their local police service immediately. The OPP can be contacted at 1-888-310-1122.
