





A Brockton teenager has been charged with numerous offences after a pay loader was taken in southern Bruce County and driven on roadways, private property and across farmers fields on Friday.
The 19-year-old suspect has been charged with dangerous driving, two counts of operation while prohibited, two counts of assaulting a peace officer, theft over $5,000, two counts of mischief over $5,000, mischief under $5,000 and failing to comply with probation.
Just before 11:30 a.m. on Friday, South Bruce OPP received a report of a pay loader being taken from a property in the former Brant Township in the Municipality of Brockton. Police located the pay loader in the former Carrick Township in the Municipality of South Bruce where it was being driven in an erratic manner, it said in a news release from police.
Police set up road blocks to contain the vehicle, while the OPP Emergency Response Team, OPP Canine, OPP Aviation Services, OPP officers from neighbouring detachments, West Grey police and Hanover police also assisted with the incident.
The payloader was finally stopped on Grey Road 10 in the former Normanby Township in the Municipality of West Grey.
The accused was taken into custody and has been held pending a bail hearing scheduled for Tuesday.
