Scarborough driver caught doing 160 km/h in Northern Bruce Peninsula


A 23-year-old from Scarborough has been charged after being stopped driving at more than twice the speed limit in Northern Bruce Peninsula.

Just after 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Grey Bruce OPP were patrolling Highway 6 north of Pike Bay Road when they stopped a white car travelling at over 160 kilometres per hour in an 80 km/h zone.

The driver was charged with stunt driving at 50 km/h or more over the posted speed limit.

The driver’s licence was suspended for seven days, and the vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days. The driver has been given a court date to answer to the charge, police said in a news release.
