Owen Sound woman gives chase when man caught trying to steal vehicle

An Owen Sound woman chased a man who attempted to steal her vehicle while she unloaded groceries at her west-side home Tuesday afternoon.

While carrying groceries from her vehicle to her residence a man entered the car and sat in the driver’s seat. Upon her return, she encountered the man who then fled on foot.

The woman gave chase.

Her neighbours assisted in the chase and Owen Sound police eventually found and arrested the suspect.

In a media release, police thanked those involved for their efforts that directly assisted in the successful arrest and reminded residents to remain vigilant no matter the time of day in locking their vehicles and keeping their possessions secured.
