No new COVID-19 cases confirmed in Grey-Bruce on Sunday


The Grey Bruce Health Unit reported one new case of COVID-19 over two days this weekend.

The new case, confirmed on Saturday, was reported in a resident of Southgate, bringing the total number of cases confirmed in Grey-Bruce to 91. It was the first case reported locally in almost a week, after two cases were confirmed on May 17. On Sunday there were no new cases confirmed by the health unit.

The low case count in Grey-Bruce, continues as numbers continue to inch up Ontario-wide. The province reported 460 more cases on Sunday after reporting 412 more cases on Saturday. For four straight days now, Ontario health officials have confirmed more than 400 cases. There have been over 25,500 lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ontario, including 2,073 deaths as of Sunday. A total of 19,148 cases had been resolved.

A total of 82 people have recovered in Grey-Bruce, up one from Friday. There are still no deaths attributed to COVID-19 in Grey-Bruce and nobody is hospitalized.

There were 24 cases reported in health care workers working in Grey-Bruce on Sunday, while there are no long-term care homes or retirement facilities in the two counties currently in COVID-19 outbreak.
